The University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria will officially break ground on its collaborative Cancer Research Expansion Project on Monday, August 16th at 10am. The 20,000-square-foot facility will allow UICOMP’s Dr. Jasti Rao to expand his world-class research program and bring millions of dollars and dozens of jobs to the region. The ceremony will include participation by Regional Dean Sara L. Rusch, M.D., University of Illinois President Michael J. Hogan, UIC Chancellor Paula Allen-Mears, Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood, Congressman Aaron Schock, Mayor Jim Ardis and Heartland Partnership President and CEO Jim McConoughey. The Korean Ambassador to the United States, Han Duk-soo, will join Congressman Aaron Schock at “Growing Jobs Across America: Opportunities in Illinois” at the Pere Marquette on Friday, August 16th from 3 to 5:30pm.
