It is a new US Military now. The photo below of an all woman Air Force air crew.
Retired military people can fly space available on US Military aircraft. My wife and I flew home last month from the Navy Base at Rota, Spain to a small National Guard Base in South Carolina on an Air Force C-17 Cargo Plane.
They were carrying a CH-47 Army National Guard Helicopter, returning home from its deployment in Afghanistan. The Army Guard met us at the strip, unloaded the Helo, and took us to the Airport. Thanks, guys.
The Helo is their last one coming back from Afghanistan. It was pretty beat up. My wife asked in they were going to junk it. "No they replied, we will fix it up and fly it for many more years."
