The City of Bloomington is improving the appearance and function of their downtown. The centerpeace of the downtown is the impressive courthouse, now a museum. A high quality streetscape improvement will be made.
We suggest that the City include a large sculpture and fountain honoring Abraham Lincoln and U.S Grant on a corner of the court house.
“Lincoln and Grant deserve the nation’s credit for saving the United States, eradicating slavery, and striving to provide equality for the freedman. One could not have succeeded without the other."

The Lincoln Grant Statue should be surrounded by an attractive fountain. The statue should include blooming flowers. It could be powered by solar panels.
The statute could be placed on any of the four corners of the courthouse.
The two men spent time together on the battlefields of the Civil War. Lincoln rode Grant's horse Cinncinnati. Both men could be mounted in the Statue.
The Lincoln Grant Statue would become the central meeting point of Bloomington. Cafe's and restaurants overlooking the Statue would be a plus.
